"Hi student,
So you're not doing so hot in English?
You try to get help in class, but the teacher's busy helping everyone else?
Maybe you're a little embarrassed that you don't get what everyone else does?
Well, hey, no problem. I'm here to help you one-on-one. Together, we'll get it done!
My love of teaching comes from that "A-ha!" moment. There's nothing better than that more...
There's nothing better than that moment when it just clicks, and you say, "A-ha!, This isn't so bad!"
As a professional high school English teacher with a Master's degree and nine years of experience, I am up-to-date on the latest methods of instruction that are being implemented in your school, including areas of literacy, grammar and writing. For the last five years, I have taught full-time at a private school dedicated to students with specified learning differences, including dyslexia, ADHD, and autism. Chances are, if the strategies your teacher is using aren't working for you, then you will need more specific, one-to-one instruction, which is what I specialize in.
While my strategies are not set in stone and I am up for anything that will help you, I do not work in a vacuum. I need a firm commitment from you that you will give me the same amount of effort I am putting out there. I require all assignments to be completed in full at the beginning of each session; there may even be a pop quiz or two. I also require that all distracting devices (ie. phones, televisions, radios) be turned off while tutoring is in progress.
You're not alone. As we work together, we'll get to that A-ha!
