"I'm Mike. I have a bachelor's degree in General Studies (GS) and an MBA with business management and accounting concentrations. I tutored my son and daughter while they were in middle and high school. This is where I found inspiration in assisting students to conquer subject matter challenges. Later, I tutored many more aspiring academics to grasp the basic learning concepts like proper note-taking, sentence structure, thesis development and study habits.

My tutoring experience focuses on middle and high school students needing a little extra guidance with formulating an essay topic and creating cohesive, concise and clear storytelling. I concentrate on identifying challenges that discourage students' ability to write creatively. We often spend time brainstorming ideas to create multiple topics for their paper. From here, we move forward with the step-by-step formulation of the essay body and concluding paragraphs.

I also help students that need extra time to make sense of classroom assignments and homework. Often key points students bring home are vague and confusing. My experience, patience and compassion allow me to quickly share learning processes and techniques that move students from intimidation to the confidence stage.
