"Hello! My name is Vieyiti (vyay-ee-tee), and I am a sophomore at MIT studying Biological Engineering. I have a strong passion for education and mentorship, with two years of experience as an academic mentor for high school students in math and science. Additionally, I have worked with elementary and middle school students in Elementary Math and Algebra, helping kids build confidence and foundational skills in STEM subjects.
I scored 800 on the SAT Math section and have received A’s in Integrated Math I, II, and III, Precalculus, Calculus I, II, and III, and Differential Equations. I have also earned A’s in Biology, AP Biology (scored 5), Microbiology, Biotechnology, Chemistry, and Environmental Science at the college level, maintaining a 4.0 GPA. I was admitted to 24 colleges before deciding on MIT, with scholarships offered from Harvard, Stanford, Princeton, Yale, Columbia, Cornell, UCLA, UC Berkeley, and more.
My tutoring approach is student-centered and highly adaptable. I believe that every student learns differently, so I tailor my teaching strategies to fit individual needs. Some students thrive with hands-on practice problems, while others benefit from in-depth discussions of real-world applications. I incorporate interactive learning techniques and a patient, encouraging teaching style to ensure my students feel supported and engaged. Most importantly, I strive to foster a growth mindset, helping students develop problem-solving skills and confidence that extend beyond the classroom. Many of my students have not only improved their grades and test scores but have also gained a deeper appreciation for STEM.
As the oldest of 5 kids, I've spent countless hours helping my siblings with homework at the dinner table, and I understand that every student has a different learning style! I want to enhance my students' learning experience as much as I can and am always receptive to parent and student feedback. Please feel free to contact me with any additional questions or schedule a lesson with me!" less...
