"Hi everyone! I am a tutor in a number of areas including STEM (science, technology, engineering, and math), music, English and writing, and standardized test prep (SAT, ACT, GMAT, GRE, TOEFL, ISEE, etc.).
For qualifications sake, I received my Bachelor's of Science in Music. I also completed a Massachusetts teaching education program while attending school, fulfilling a full practicum and set of required student teaching. Working internationally, I have also held classes in Seoul, South Korea, teaching chemistry, physics, and calculus. Additionally, I have volunteered with several disadvantaged youth tutoring programs and have tutored many friends and family over the past 12+ years. I always find that the experience is mutually beneficial. Besides, it is said that the best way to learn a subject is to teach it!
I am located near Cambridge, MA and am currently teaching primarily online only. Normally, my tutoring sessions are held in a local library or school and last anywhere from 1-2 hours. I prefer when the student has some sort of workbook or guide that they would like to cover, but this is not required. Based upon the subject matter, we can develop a program that can meet on a regular basis (weekly, etc.) or in "chunks" to cover specific parts of the subject.
In my spare time, I enjoy playing the saxophone and keeping up with developments in the scientific community. I love puzzles and games that encourage people to think, and I like to recreate exciting science demonstrations. I may also be in love with Taco Bell." less...
