"Hello! My name is Quentin and I'm a graduate from MIT with a bachelor's in Mechanical Engineering. As an engineer, I have a fascination with seeing mathematics and physics applied in the real world, designing machines and meeting physical specifications. I use my background in applied math and my love of teaching to show students new ways to look at the concepts they're learning in class to make these subjects more thrilling, intuitive, relevant, and digestible.
At the high school level, I was a private tutor for over a year helping students with Trigonometry, Precalculus, AP Physics C, and AP Calculus BC. At the college level, I worked in MIT's Office of Minority Education as a student facilitator where I led homework nights and 1 on 1 lessons in subjects such as Calculus (Single and Multivariable), Physics (Classical Mechanics and Electricity & Magnetism), Differential Equations, Linear Algebra, and Dynamics. I was a teaching assistant for a Mechanical Engineering professor's Numerical Computations course in MATLAB and I co-authored a course text with the same professor for his course in Dynamics.
SAT Math: 800
AP Physics C: 5
AP Calculus BC: 5
I'll usually help you with the homework you come into an appointment with but I can also be prepared with practice problems and a short lesson if that's what helps you learn best. Feel free to contact me to ask any questions or learn more about scheduling an appointment. I'll make sure to reply promptly to all messages. Hope to see you soon!" less...
