"I recently joined Wyzant after spending time at one of the big Bay Area tutoring companies.

I first began tutoring and developing teaching materials at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, where I graduated with a degree in Electrical Engineering. I also studied a lot of mathematics and nearly added it as a second major. As a freshman at MIT, the professor of a graduate level advanced calculus course asked me to prepare supplemental class materials based on my personal notes. I also gained experience working as a tutor for the Department of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science, teaching SAT prep classes, and even writing math questions for local high school mathematics competitions.

After college, I attended law school and then practiced as a patent litigator and patent prosecutor for over a decade. Over the years, I have taught patent drafting and legal writing to junior attorneys, and I have also taught essay writing to college students.

When it comes to my teaching philosophy, I believe in focusing on gaining a solid grasp of fundamentals and taking a structured approach to problem-solving. I always try to show students that they know more than they think they know.
