"My mother taught English. That's what got me started. I tutored kids when I was in high school, and I haven't stopped. My love for reading and government pulled me into history. I have taught English to 8-10th graders. I have taught government, world history, U.S. history, and economics.

I have found that grammar and writing are about process. History is usually about memorization strategies and finding the story in history.

My student's tell me that I'm great because I actually love English and grammar. They're right. There was a time when I would diagram sentences for fun. Ha.

I love learning the story of history. To me, history is a journey through other people's stories. When I tutor history, it's like an expedition.
