"Hi. I am Jim. I am a life-long aficionado of languages. I graduated from Illinois State University with a degree in Spanish Literature. Shortly after college, I moved to Nicaragua where I taught in the rural education system. Upon returning to the United States 7 years later, I worked with immigrants learning English. Later, I received training in teaching ESL/TOEFL through the Oxford Seminars program with a concentration in Business English and Teen/Adult learning.

I was blessed to learn from some of the best, most motivating, inspirational teachers. Caring about the subject matter- languages for me, and caring about the students are the keys to providing a great learning environment. What does this mean in practice? Number one is the basics- prompt, puntual, and professional. Number two is always being prepared. And number three is employing the latest teaching and tutoring techniques.

My goal is to make learning fun and to make our sessions effective as possible. I believe in using all available resources which may include videos, outings to public events, any venue where it is possible to be exposed to language.
