"I am a fourth-year medical student applying to internal medicine residency programs. My passion for teaching began in college in 2017, and since then, I have consistently mentored students, including my peers in medical school. I enjoy working with students to refine their study strategies, select high-yield resources, and master challenging concepts. Tutoring has allowed me to foster academic growth in others while strengthening my communication and teaching skills.
Academically, I achieved an EPC of 86% on my final NBME practice test before Step 1, which I took in June 2023. I recently earned a score of 269 (95th percentile) on Step 2, completing all AMBOSS questions once and all UWorld questions twice during my preparation. Throughout my third year, I maintained a shelf exam average of 90 EPC, demonstrating consistent academic excellence. Additionally, I collaborated with faculty, students, and NBME staff to improve clinical reasoning assessments by contributing to case development, refining evaluation tools, and enhancing the OSCE experience.
Currently ranked first in my class, I serve as president of the Alpha Omega Alpha (AOA) Honor Medical Society. My tutoring philosophy focuses on meeting students where they are, identifying their strengths, and helping them build confidence and understanding. I especially enjoy walking through practice questions with students, gaining insights into their reasoning, and tailoring feedback to their individual needs. Teaching is not only a source of fulfillment for me but also a way to contribute to the academic success of my peers." less...
