"Hello! I’m Phoebea, and I want to use my master’s degree in Business Analytics from Virginia Tech (VT) to help you with your math and standardized test preparation. I also have dual bachelor's degrees in Industrial & Systems Engineering (ISE) and Political Science from VT, emphasizing my commitment to diligent and interdisciplinary study. I offer instruction in a variety of additional areas, including resume support, statistics, geography, and essay proofreading/revision.

My instruction is characterized by my desire to not only help students with their work itself, but also to help them understand metacognitively how emotion might be impacting their challenges. I led a formal peer mentoring program for students in my ISE major as president of Alpha Pi Mu Honor Society. I had three mentees, each of whom I supported for about three hours each week in planning for future semesters, helping with assignments, preparing their resumes, and providing general well-being check-ins. I always make sure to connect with my mentees and ensure they are doing okay–something I find to be crucial to student success.

Outside of my academics, I also volunteer as a Research Lead for LogRide, a platform for users to track and review amusement park attractions worldwide. I am tasked with maintaining and supplementing the database, whilst also playing a key role in planning growth strategies and future updates. Additionally, I have trained four newer team members from both the United States and abroad in how to use the admin console to add data, the criteria for reviewing user submissions, citations, and other tasks.

In terms of my standardized test expertise, I received a score of 1580 on my SAT on my first sitting, scoring a perfect 800 on the math section and a 780 on the evidence-based reading and writing section. I also scored a 35 on my ACT on my first sitting, attaining a 34 and higher on all individual sections.
