"Zach is engaged in a thriving practice of private music instruction, which began in high school when his elementary school band director approached him with a proposition - tutoring his more advanced students who are excelling too quickly for the large group lessons offered at school. Zach was quick to agree, and since 2011 he has been working to share his knowledge of music with students of all ages and levels of proficiency. He hopes to spread not only this knowledge (which he works tirelessly to ensure is always developing), but also the inspiration and dedication to this art that has been passed down to him by the marvelous teachers he has had the pleasure to study with.
Zach is a graduate of Temple University's Jazz Studies program, directed by Terell Stafford, where he was taught and mentored by world-class musicians including saxophonists Dick Oatts and Ben Schachter, trumpeter John Swana, and drummer Dan Monaghan. While at Temple, Zach studied a broad range of musical subjects including saxophone performance, music theory, ear training, composition, and music history.
Zach is always excited for the chance to work with enthusiastic students, so please be in touch as soon as you see that spark of curiosity light up in your child's (or your own) eye!" less...
