"I have been tutoring online for over 10 years in 7 different time zones. I have taught thousands of sessions in ESL, ELA and Math classes to over 4000 students in that time. I have also been a substitute teacher for our local elementary school for 3 years before I became their after-school program director and revamped the program to ensure homework time and help for students.
I have also been a hiring rep and curriculum editor for tutoring companies so I have seen all sides of the tutoring world. Before tutoring, I ran a large daycare center that I implemented a curriculum in for ages 3-12 in different classrooms in a rural setting. I have been teaching or tutoring in some capacity for years online and across many platforms with 5-star ratings across the board.
When asked why I love my job, it is truly because I am addicted to that A-HA moment my students have when we are finding a way to approach a challenging subject. I am passionate about ELA-especially writing and grammar and showing students that if we break writing about a topic down into planned steps, that anyone can be a great writer! I am just as passionate about math and love finding individualized strategies that make it easier for your student. I think it's important to acknowledge that every student learns differently. Lastly-I like to keep learning FUN. I want your student to WANT to come back and keep learning with me, so there will be silly, loud singing, corny jokes and educational games in my classroom.
