Born in Brittany, I am a French native and a tenured professor at a rigorous Liberal Arts school in the Midwest where I have been teaching French & francophone literature with a focus on contemporary lit & environmental studies.

I have tutored and taught in many different settings, including at the Alliance Française of Cork (Ireland), the Institut Français in London (UK), the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and the University of Wisconsin, Madison.

I hold a Masters in French Literature from Rennes II, a Masters in FLE (French as a Foreign Language from Rouen), a Masters in Comparative Literature and a PhD in French Literature.

While I love teaching at all levels, I particularly enjoy helping you elevate your French from the intermediate to more advanced level (B1 to B2 level and beyond) by helping you think (and dream!) in French.

I am currently specializing in AP French and literature classes. If you are a francophile high school student preparing for the AP exam but don’t quite know where to start, I am here for you. We will work together so that 1) you can tackle AP French as a rewarding challenge that will boost your speaking confidence and have you “think in French” by 2) dramatically improving your listening and essay writing skills while you 3) gain insight into French and francophone culture so that you can 4) succeed at the exam and get into the College of your dream.

I will help you make grammar your friend and help you analyze texts more deeply so that you can craft your own powerful essays in French.

Of course, I would love to introduce you to French cinema, songs, art and cuisine! Whatever your passions, we can explore them in French so that you can reach your goals of becoming more fluent !
