"I am a native German who has been living in New York for over a year. I can describe myself as a dedicated and patient professional with teaching experience in higher education level. Among others, I taught a class on scientific writing to university students. What I most enjoy about teaching is to help my students improve, not only because they have to but because they want to. Learning should be fun!

I specialize in tutoring my native language – German. My goal as a language teacher is to build up the student's vocabulary and grammar skills so he or she will gradually be able to communicate effortlessly. I teach total beginners as well as advanced students.

In addition to teaching German I also proofread papers in English as well as in German. Having published several scientific papers myself, I am very detailed and thorough and do not only focus on grammar, spelling and overall expression, but also on contents and completeness of the paper.

Last but not least, being a Civil Engineer involves maths more than anything. It has always been my favorite subject in school, thus, I want to pass this on to my "little" students, teaching them elementary maths in a way that is both effective and fun!
