"My name is Jeny, I was born in Colombia, but moved to Houston, Texas when I was 6 years old. I have been a Spanish-English interpreter for 7 years, interpeting all sorts of subjects including immigration/naturalization interviews with the USCIS . I started interpreting in church when English speakers would attend my church. From there I discovered I had a great knack for managing both English and Spanish. I have recently been volunteering and helping adults and children better their English and Spanish. All this lead me to want to pursue tutoring. I love being able to help kids and adults learn something that they have been struggling to understand.

As a child many times I thought of myself as 'dumb' or 'not smart enough' when I couldn't understand something that many of my peers grasped so easily. As I grew up, I finally understood that famous quote 'you cant judge a fish by its ability to climb a tree, it will live its whole life believing that it is stupid'.

I want to make this as stress-free as possible. Not everyone learns the same. I try to get know the person and draft the best individualized plan for each individual. From beginners to advanced level, studying for your American United States citizenship test , studying English/ Spanish or preparing for an interview, I can help you. As a mother of a special abilities child, I have all the patience you need.
