"I'm Robin. I graduated Magna Cum Laude from Ursuline College in 2002, with a B.A. in English Language and Literature. After graduating from college, I immediately decided I wanted to go into the teaching field. I enrolled in post- baccalaureate classes at Cleveland State University, in order to get my certification in Middle School Language Arts & Social Studies. I finished up my teaching certification at Notre Dame College, where I enrolled in the TEEL (Teacher Evening Education Licensure Program), finishing that program up in 2007. I completed my student teaching at St. Ann school in Cleveland Heights through the TEEL program, and I absolutely loved it! My mentor teacher was fantastic, and the students were so motivated and pleasant. The experience at St. Ann's persuaded me to further my teaching career even more.
From thereon, I enrolled in a Masters of Education program at Notre Dame College, since I liked their curriculum and the professors that taught there were so inspiring to me. I enrolled in the Masters program in 2007, directly after I completed the TEEL program. I decided to enroll in the Masters of Education program with a Reading (K-12) Endorsement. I always loved being a reader, and since it was something I enjoyed and excelled at personally, I felt I wanted to inspire others with my love of reading, making them a life long learner as well!
I enjoy working individually with students, as it provides me with the opportunity to get to know my students, and establish a connection and rapport with them. Tutoring is exciting because I like to see the personal growth of a student one on one, and become involved with that on a more personal basis. I welcome any opportunities for growth as a tutor for myself, as well as suggestions from students and parents/guardians.
I would be an outstanding English tutor because I have a love of reading, and even more so, I am very passionate about writing. I feel as if writing is an art, one that can be perfected through expanding one's vocabulary, reading" less...
