"I teach conversationally and students learn grammatically correct language by practice rather than rules ; My style of teaching is based on French conversation dealing with diversified topics like currents events, popular culture, politics, economics, news, etc. I also help student to read and discuss French literature and newspaper/magazine articles and editorials. One of the aspects that we can discuss is the French context surrounding various events or works, so that you have a more comprehensive understanding of the different levels of meaning at play.

I enjoy 'designing' and preparing lesson plans for each session geared to address particular interests of the student. In order to do this, I meet with the student and/or the family (depending on the age of the student) to work together to plan a course of study. I think that a good teacher is a sum of pedagogy+psychology+method ; with pedagogy being the heart of the process.

As a teacher then a videographer I have always chased that passion to turn something which was supposed to be 'boring' into something 'fun.'

The first thing that I will ask is : Why do you want to learn or improve your French and what are you expecting from me ? Then I will develop an overall course of action based on the time available (how long sessions should continue) to complete a set objective (ex. getting caught up for a course, overall grade improvement, preparing for a specific exam, etc.) and those assumptions.

I am creative in my teaching. I use my videographer background (multimedia approach) to bring insight and originality to teaching students.

I tutor daytime and evenings and I also tutor online, which is great for anyone who's busy or would like to take classes late at night.
