"Hi there! My name is Nicole and I wanted to thank you for your consideration for being your student's tutor! I have two college degrees- Master's of Education and a Bachelor of Arts-History & English both from the University of Northern Colorado. I have also obtained multiple certifications such as AVID teacher training, High Instructional Impact Practices, and much more!
I have been a teacher for three years now. My first two years I taught Social Studies (U.S. History & Government) to over 200 students. This year, my third year teaching I am teaching American Literature to roughly 80 students. I spent two years working as an after school tutor to 12-15 students twice a week for an hour. My method and approach to tutoring is the same as education- each student is unique and requires unique teaching. I teach and tutor with a "student first" approach. I want to know my students and their interests prior to anything else- this build trust in our educational relationship, and serves as a way that students know they can trust me prior to teaching or helping them with anything else.
I have taught primarily 10th-12th graders, but have worked with students ranging from 6th grade through 12th grade. I have been teaching for 3 years and my experience in the classroom is a student-first approach. Once again, I like to work on building positive and safe relationships with students on day one. This contributes to the classroom culture and provides a safe and effective learning environment for everyone in the classroom. I tutored after school for 2 years, at the rate of twice a week for 12-15 students a time. I helped students with their Social Studies homework, reading comprehension, annotations, writing skills and so much more!
I'd love to help your student out with any improvements they'd like to make!" less...
