"I have a PhD degree in theoretical chemistry from Northwestern University, where I did lots of programming and modeling for my study. I have been teaching both college and middle/high school students for many years. My GPA for undergrad = 3.7/4.0 (magna cum laude), grad = 3.93/4.0.

Currently, I am tutoring 10+ high school students for AP subjects (Pre-cal, Calc AB, Phy 1, Bio) and olympiads (chemistry and math). I am also an adjunct professor at Montclair State University, teaching a chemistry course in this semester.

The list of subjects/topics I can tutor includes the following:

- Any level of math up to AP calc BC and competitions

- Any level of science (physics, chemistry, biology, etc.) up to AP level + olympiad preparation

- For chemistry, all the way up to graduate school courses

- Coding / computer programming (I specialize in Python and C++, but other languages are welcome too)

With my students, I always try first to sit down with them and understand their strengths and weaknesses; I don't work with a pre-set, one-fits-all curriculum for everyone. I try to explain key concepts and problem solving strategy in easy terms, and ask lots of questions in the process. In my opinion, asking and answering is far more effective when it comes to learning, compared to passive learning.

For most courses, problem solving skill is just as important as understanding the theory. This is especially true for courses like AP Physics and olympiad preparation. Getting exposed to various problems of good quality is crucial, and this is exactly what I can offer to my students. I very often go beyond the textbook and "standard" learning materials, and give them extra problems from other sources, or my own work. This way, students will be able to gain problem-solving experience, as well as confidence in applying what they have learned already.

I live near Newark, NJ and can drive up to ~30 miles for teaching. Online tutoring works just fine as well, as I have lots of experience in both." less...
