"Hi! I am Stephanie, RN, MSN, CNP. I graduated from the University of Akron with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing in 2003. I worked as a critical care RN until I obtained my Master of Science in Nursing from Kent State University in 2008. I currently hold licensure as an RN and Adult Nurse Practitioner in Ohio, and I am certified through the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners. I have 15 years' experience as an NP in the clinical area and 2 years of experience teaching undergraduate nursing students. I spent 1 year as a graduate assistant in the skills lab at KSU, teaching hands on skills and practice theory to BSN student and assisted with test prep and proofreading. My classes were approximately 30 students. I spent the first half of class on large group lecture, and the 2nd half of class on small group skills practice, where I would provide 1 on 1 up to 1 on 5 instruction with hands-on-skills. I spent 1 year as a clinical instructor for undergraduate RN students (6-8 students/group) at Cuyahoga Community College. I love teaching and recently applied to be a substitute teacher at my daughter's primary school! I am proficient at writing scholarly papers in APA format and have a published, peer-reviewed article in the Journal for Nurse Practitioners. I would love to help undergraduate and graduate nursing students with their core nursing courses and prerequisite science courses (psychology, anatomy and physiology, biology, and pathophysiology are my strongest areas). I can also help with drafting and proofreading papers and with test preparation. My clinical areas of interest and practice have been outpatient internal medicine, inpatient hospitalist, outpatient sexual health clinic, geriatrics, and hospice/palliative.
