"My name is Christina and I am a college graduate with a degree in Adolescent Education for Biology with a minor in Psychology from SUNY Cortland in New York. I specialize in grades 7-12. In my education, I have worked with middle school, high school, and college-aged students through tough concepts in the biological sciences. I am a certified Biology teacher in both New Jersey and New York State. Additionally, I have tutored for grades 7-12 and introductory biology for college students for the past four years. I have experience tutoring students for the NYS Regents Exam, AP Biology and AP Psychology.

Being both a teacher and tutor throughout my career, I have learned how to work with student's needs differently. I understand that the concepts taught in the classroom are often fast-paced and taught in one or two different ways to help a group of students, rather than each individual. My goal when I am tutoring is to explain concepts in ways that we teachers struggle to do in class, based solely on the individual needs of the student. I like drawing and finding visuals, providing students with pneumonic devices, breaking down difficult key words, and creating diagrams to highlight different ways to view information and generate an individualized learning plan. I want to make sure no student feels discouraged when studying with me. I have taken five years’ worth of biology and science-related courses and I understand how difficult the constant change of science can be.
