"Hi - thank you for considering me! Whether it's tutoring, test prep or helping with homework or college admissions essays, I would love to work with you!
I am a neuro-affirming educator, which means I welcome, adapt to and respect all kinds of learners, and individualize every session to support the unique needs of each student. I have 10+ years of experience working with students of all learning abilities and neurodiversities, including Autism and ADHD, and believe everyone can succeed when given adequate support.
I live in NYC and can meet virtually or in-person. I'm happy to meet in a public area or at your child's school if they have a free/lunch period for a session during the school day.
I have always been passionate about education. I graduated from Middlebury College with a BA in Psychology and Sociology. I tutored teen mothers during the year at the Addison County Parent-Child Center, and in the summers I was a counselor at Camp Ramapo, a sleepaway camp for children with special needs in Rhinebeck, NY. I earned my Masters in Teaching Students with Disabilities and my NY teaching license in Special Education and Social Studies (Grades 7-12) through the prestigious NYC Teaching Fellows program from 2009-2011.
I am experienced and dedicated and have worked with hundreds of bright, talented and hard-working students across vastly different schools, populations and settings. My priority is to ensure that all of my students feel supported while connecting with and mastering the material. I break down complex ideas into engaging and challenging (yet accessible) lessons differentiated based on the needs of each student. I enjoy developing creative and relevant activities and assessments and offering thoughtful and encouraging feedback to push their critical thinking.
I love building relationships with my students and helping them gain content knowledge as well as study and executive functioning skills. Please reach out if you think I could support you!" less...
