"My name is William L. and I currently teach Global History and Geography and AP US History in New York City. I have been a teacher in NYC for 8+ years and in addition to Global history and Geography and AP US History, I have also taught Participation in Government and I have tutored students in preparation for AP World History. I have attended classes and received training to teach AP US History through Molloy College. I attended the State University of New York at Cortland, an esteemed public school known for their education programs. I received a Bachelors degree in History and graduated Cum Laude. I continued my education at SUNY Cortland and a received Masters of Science and Teaching in Childhood Education. I hold a New York State Professional Certification for Secondary Social Studies. I received Tenure in as a History teacher in NYC 4 years ago.

In addition to my education and certification, I have been a reader for the AP US History Exam. Following the exam, teachers from around the nation attend a week long conference that includes training, discussion and grading and evaluating thousands of student exams. From the experience I have gained new insight into the essays and how to best improve one's writing ability.

I have had success helping students improve skills, retain content and grow as historical thinkers in class, through in-person tutoring and through remote learning. Every person I have tutored has passed the AP Exam whether it was AP US or AP World History.

My students in class have succeeded in learning US history with the high level of nuance that the course demands, and they enjoy my method of delivery. I'm energetic, and i'm a story teller. Rogue memorization has it merits, but students learn best when they connect with the information in a deeper level through conversation and discussion.
