"My name is Ari and I graduated from NYU in 2021 with a Bachelors in Comparative Literature. During my time college I worked as a production assistant and as a writing tutor for High School children, while taking classes mainly in history and literature in both English and Spanish. In college I spent a semester working as a writing tutor at Inner City Arts in Los Angeles where I worked with high schoolers. I also spent a semester doing an internship at Conan, working with a network TV writing team by helping on the show’s monologue. After graduating I have worked as a copywriter for local nonprofits and as a staff writer on the new season of Futurama for Hulu. Finally, I have two years experience working as a chess tutor for elementary school and middle school students, in large classrooms and one-on-one. I hope to be able to share my experience as a writer to help students in English and essay writing.

I received a perfect score of 36 on the ACT Reading section and am comfortable teaching skills to master reading sections for the ACT or SAT. I am a well rounded history buff. Most of the classes I took in college were in American history, European history and World history more broadly. I received a 5 in AP US History and AP Euro, as well as a perfect score on the SAT US history subject test. In addition to this I have a year experience tutoring high schoolers for the AP Euro test. Working as a chess tutor has made me good at helping students with memorization skills as well as helping students understand abstract concepts which are both necessary for anyone pursuing humanities.
