"With a degree in philosophy, I am always focused on understanding and teaching matters from first principles such that the knowledge gained from a given lesson can be practically and dynamically applied to real-life situations. As a private tutor over the years I have always striven to enable students to think critically, as opposed to merely temporarily memorizing information for the purpose of passing tests. With a grip on the ability to think well, I strongly believe that students will empower themselves to successfully transmute ignorance into wisdom; in other words, students will “figure it out” no matter what the challenge. Thought is the most powerful asset we have, and my mission in life is to nurture that power to its most positively fruitful state.
For over a decade, I've taught students individually and in group settings from age 5 to age 70 in multiple domains such as, English, basketball, chess, mathematics, logic, reading comprehension, psychology, religion, philosophy, driving, nutrition, anatomy, physiology, history, mythology, cryptographic technologies, personal finance management, investing, economics. My primary method of teaching students is to employ the Socratic method, which is, put simply, asking questions. I firmly believe that answers come easily when we know the right questions to ask. Therefore, I allow students to explore their own minds and encourage them to ask their own questions, in hope that they come up with the questions they're looking for. I will always believe that every able-minded person has the capacity to transmute their ignorance into wisdom." less...
