"I love the Spanish language! Hola! Mi nombre es Ivy y mi idioma nativo es Español (My name is Ivy, and my native language is Spanish). I lived in Puerto Rico for ten years and studied Spanish there until I was 15 years old. I then moved to Massachusetts, where I graduated high school with honors as a bilingual student. After that, I graduated with honors with an associate degree in Executive Office Administration from Springfield Technical Community College. Currently, I am a member and Intermediate Tutor Certified of the National Tutoring Association and I have a Certificate in Spanish Studies from the Udemy Academy.

In the past, I taught Spanish Bible classes to adults as a volunteer at the Instituto Teológico de Bethsaida (Theological Bible Institute of Bethsaida) in Holyoke, MA for over three years. The class subjects varied, and the size was about 7-10 students per class. I used different teaching strategies and styles when giving my classes. I think each student is unique and has his or her own learning style. Some learn better visually, others by listening, others by tact, etc. I try to use different resources to incorporate these learning styles such as pictures or visual aids, songs, or instruments, or using objects that can be touched, for example.

My tutoring approach is to offer one-on-one tutoring by helping with homework and class work, catering to your tutoring needs, and focusing on your preferred learning style. My tutoring lessons offer basic, intermediate, and advanced conversational skills as well as grammar with a focus on structurally writing sentences using proper verbs, nouns, pronouns, etc. I strive to help you to improve your communication, comprehension and writing skills.
