"I am a retired elementary school teacher and reading specialist. I spent ten years teaching grades K-3.

I earned my MA in Reading and worked as a Reading Interventionist for ten years. I love working with kids, helping struggling readers, and coaching parents. I have 4 years of experience in teaching and tutoring online. Let me help you and your child love reading. I also have experience teaching Elementary Math, Science, and Social Studies for grades K-3.

I have a current teaching certificate and taught grades K-3. I have also been Nationally Board Certified since 2004. I have spent the last five years homeschooling my children in grades K-8.

I have a Masters's Degree in Teaching and Learning with a Specialization in Reading and have numerous graduate credits on top of my MA in Reading. I spent several years as a Reading Coach, teaching teachers how to help students and improve their classroom reading programs. When I served as a Reading Interventionist, I headed up the school Reading program and worked alongside teachers identifying and working with struggling readers. The primary goal was to give them intensive support and release them entirely back into the classroom. I had tremendous success helping 24-35 kids yearly.

I hold a current teaching license and have been Nationally Board Certified since 2004. I taught for ten years in grades K-3 and then worked as a Reading Coach for teachers and as a Reading Interventionist for struggling readers. I now homeschool my children in grades K-5. I have also tutored students after school over the last 20 years.

I have an MA in Reading and many courses in phonemic awareness, phonics, and other significant components of reading. I enjoy making learning fun and try my best for children to make meaningful connections to their new learning.
