"Hello! My name is Kimberlee, and I am a certified, experienced, and passionate educator with over 10 years of experience working with students of all ages and backgrounds.

I began my career in education at the US Space and Rocket Center, where I taught campers about space travel, aviation, and robotics. This sparked my passion for teaching, and I went on to earn a degree and certification in Education. While studying at the University of Alabama, I was fortunate to complete a semester at Oxford University, which deepened my understanding of education and the world.

After completing my degree, I moved to Nashville, TN, where I spent eight years teaching in a charter school. During this time, I gained valuable experience providing high-quality education in a data-driven, achievement-focused environment. When the pandemic hit, I adapted quickly to teaching literacy students online, gaining additional expertise in remote learning.

Looking for a new challenge after COVID, I transitioned from General Education to Special Education as a reading specialist. In this role, I successfully combined the efficiency of the General Education classroom with the personalized, targeted approach of Special Education. As a Reading Specialist, I currently support elementary students with phonics instruction and middle school students with Latin and affix instruction to boost reading comprehension and writing skills.

I have worked with students ages 8–14 and hold certifications in General Education, TEFL/TESOL, and Orton-Gillingham. With eight years of classroom experience and one year of tutoring, I am ready to support your student’s learning journey. While I prefer in-person sessions, I am also available for online tutoring.
