"Hi! My name is Megan or Mrs. S and I am a trained Orton-Gillingham tutor with over fifteen years of experience working with students affected by dyslexia, language processing disorders and other language-based learning disabilities. In addition to being trained in the Orton-Gillingham approach by both the Institute for Multi-Sensory Education (IMSE) and the Orton-Gillingham Academy (OGA), I am also a certified dyslexia advocate from the Dyslexia Training Institute (DTI).
I have my Masters of Education in Curriculum & Instruction with a minor in Reading from the University of West Florida and am certified through the state of Florida Department of Education in Elementary Education, Exceptional Student Education, Middle Grades Math and Middle Grades Science with endorsements in both Reading and ESOL. I also hold a Bachelor of Arts degree from Florida Atlantic University where I majored in Elementary Education.
In addition to be being patient, professional, experienced and highly effective in working with students with dyslexia, I am also extremely reliable and dedicated. I will work hard to get to know your child as an individual and as a learner. I consistently monitor my strategies and modify my lessons to best meet your child's needs while using methods that make learning both fun and engaging.
If it seems like we could be a fit, I would love to talk with you more! Please reach out with any questions or to schedule a session. I look forward to sharing my passion for learning with your child!" less...
