"I graduated from Delaware Valley College with a bachelor’s in criminal justice, and then went on to receive my master’s in human services from Capella University. After working with disadvantaged adults experiencing various mental health struggles, I realized my passion was for helping children.
I have watched countless children in my area struggle with reading for almost 20 years. I finally witnessed this difficulty first hand with my own daughter and realized there was a need for reading interventions in my area. After watching the emotional toll her struggles were causing, I decided to become trained in the Orton-Gillingham method. I have been using these methods for the past couple years to work with other students experiencing reading difficulties.
I have worked one-on-one with students 1st through 7th grade, to improve reading and spelling abilities. I use multi-sensory methods that engage visual, auditory, and kinesthetic senses to help reinforce learning. Reading is taught through structured and sequential lessons which build upon each other, ensuring that students master one concept before moving to the next. All lessons are individually tailored to meet the specific needs of each student." less...
