"I am currently in my second year of college at southern New Hampshire university online. I was going to the University of Texas but decided to continue online, and I am studying finance. I was valedictorian in high school and took all AP classes, along with volunteering for various organizations on the weekends. I am an ambitious student who makes great grades. I love to teach. I used to tutor at my high school to several students who needed help. For example, after school, I would teach them how to do a math problem for their pre-calculus class. This would typically last for an hour while I taught them how to solve pre-cal problems. Several of my fellow classmates felt I was a better teacher than the actual teacher. I was a teacher's aid once in middle school. The teacher would have me show some of the other kids how to do a problem when she was busy with other students. I help my dad learn new computer software. I am intelligent and articulate. I am able to teach in several areas of math, science, history, and English. I am patient, and you have to be patient when it comes to teaching. I feel that many teachers/tutors just show them the answer without showing them how to get the answer. Also, not everyone learns the same, and I understand this completely. Some students are visual learners while some are auditory. They way I teach is that the student must do the work him/her self. I will teach them how to do it but then I will have them repeat the process to me to ensure proper technique.
I take education seriously, and I believe we are constantly leaning new things. I am educated in many subjects, but I also have a lot of life experience. Having been too many places and knowing a lot, I feel that brings special aspect to my teaching. I am good with children but can also get along with teenagers. I get along with everyone and most personalities. With the math subjects, I like to make students feel that it is possible to learn anything because it is." less...
