"Hello! My name is Alexandra. I graduated from UNC Charlotte with Master's degree in Chemistry and Bachelor degrees in Chemistry and Psychology. I have also completed all of the courses to satisfy the secondary education minor requirements (excluding student teaching). Currently I am a PhD candidate student in Nanoscale Science at UNC Charlotte. I am passionate about chemistry, teaching, understanding the learning process and helping students succeed. I have worked as a graduate teaching assistant, learning coach, and peer mentor for college-level chemistry courses. I have also privately tutor students in general chemistry I and II and organic chemistry I and II.

Through my experiences, I know which concepts will be challenging for students and will typically cause students to give up. I anticipate these obstacles and have developed techniques to help students approach them with confidence. I do this primarily through layered practices and self-assessments. My goal is to help students to not only be able to reach a problem's solution in my presence, but also find the same ease during exams and when practicing on their own.

My tutoring approach has helped my students have great success. Several of them have been with me from general chemistry into Organic chemistry.
