"I have a Master's degree in Earth Sciences (focus in paleontology) and a Bachelor's in Earth Sciences (Geological Sciences track). My research experience is in invertebrate paleontology where I focused on marine ecology. However, my background is in Geology, so I have experience with fundamental geology, lab work, and field work; including rock and mineral identification, mapping, sedimentology, etc. I have experience teaching undergraduate level introductory Biology and introductory Geology labs, where I covered broad ranges of topics within both fields. In addition to these skills, I have experience working with the Microsoft suite, Adobe suite, R (and RStudio), as well as scientific reading and writing.
While my teaching experience is at the college level, I have engaged in education and outreach events with middle school and high school age students. I am passionate about getting students interested in STEM, specifically in Earth Sciences as this field is traditionally dominated by older men.
