"Hello prospective students and parents,
I am happiest doing what I love - teaching mathematics, no matter what grade level or content area! I convey this to my students with joy, compassion and understanding. I know that many students have trouble mastering mathematics and many do not even like my subject, but I thrive on explaining it in such a way that students want to learn it and do well. Personal stories and a little humor always come into play, and while students may see me as a master of my subject, I try to convey that they too, can master it with some hard work and diligence. I teach mathematics so that I might make a difference in a student’s world – that I might be their hope and inspiration to finally learn the subject that is often dreaded and hated.
One of the challenges of teaching is meeting individual needs and differences. Therefore, using a variety of teaching styles and strategies is what I believe helps foster student learning.
My experience ranges from teaching students in middle school to teaching students at the community college, which I have done now for the past 18 years. My Bachelor of Science degree is in Secondary Mathematics Education (grades 7-12) from Millersville University, Millersville, PA, and my Master's degree is in Mathematics Education from Arcadia University, Glenside, PA.
I look forward to hearing from you!" less...
