"Hello! My name is Renjit Mathew. I have a Bachelors degree in Engineering (GPA-3.9) and currently pursuing my Masters in Business Administration (4 more courses to graduate, current GPA - 4) at Georgia State University. In addition to school, I work full time as a data analytics professional helping businesses make better decisions using a combination of math, business and technology. At work, I use Microsoft Excel along with other tools for data management, performing analysis and creating reports. I am very quantitatively inclined and strong when it comes to concepts related to Algebra 1, 2 and also most Math concepts that tests like SAT/ACT are based upon.
My experience with respect to tutoring has been to prepare college students for competitive exams like GMAT and others so as to pursue higher studies or job placement. In an informal setting, I have trained middle school and high school students with their homework around topics like Algebra 1,2, Ratios and Proportions, Time and Distance, Time and Work and Geometry.
I have had the privilege of being taught and mentored by some great tutors in my foundational years. I deeply appreciate how they have contributed to my overall growth. I am looking for an opportunity to give it back in a way and train the next generation of students that need my help. I understand that my students could be from diverse background and skillsets. Their strengths and approach towards grasping concepts could vary a great deal. I would start from the main goal the student wants to achieve and then focus on the fundamentals. I also strongly believe that practice makes a man perfect and try to instill this in my tutoring process. Overall, I would aim to tutor in a way that the overall process of leaning becomes enjoyable.
A combination of knowledge in the concepts, empathy for the student that's trying to learn the new concept as well as the belief in my pedagogical skills." less...
