"Hi! I'm Chris, a professional firefighter in Oklahoma and a graduate student working toward a Master's in Social Work. In May 2024, I graduated Summa Cum Laude from Oklahoma City University with a degree in General Studies, where I maintained a 4.0 GPA and was awarded for being the most outstanding adult learner. My passion for helping people extends into teaching, and I've always had a love for math and science. After earning an 'A' in Algebra, OCU offered me a position tutoring college-level math courses. While I could not take the role due to other commitments, it sparked my desire to help students overcome challenges and succeed in math.

Math has always come naturally to me, and I want to help others not just understand but enjoy it. During my senior year of high school, I discovered a deep love for math while excelling in pre-calculus. I went on to take statistics during my undergrad, where I earned an 'A' and was praised by my professor as one of the best students she'd ever had. My goal is to take that passion and make math accessible and enjoyable for students at any level.

Beyond my academic background, I bring practical experience from my role as a firefighter and hazmat technician. I regularly use math in real-world, high-stakes situations, which has deepened my understanding of its importance. I also spent over 10 years homeschooling my four children, where I was the primary math teacher. Three of my kids are now excelling in secondary school math, something I take great pride in.

When tutoring, I take a patient and personalized approach. I understand that every student learns differently, so I tailor my teaching methods to fit their needs, breaking down complex concepts into manageable steps.
