"My name is Garrett Iverson, and I am a dedicated physics student with a passion for helping others develop a strong understanding of math and physics. I am currently a senior at the University of Utah, set to graduate in May 2025 with a Bachelor’s degree in Physics with a computational emphasis. I have maintained a 4.0 major GPA while excelling in challenging courses such as Quantum Field Theory, Advanced Quantum Mechanics, Complex Analysis, and Partial Differential Equations. In addition to my academic achievements, I am actively engaged in research with the IceCube Neutrino Observatory, where I analyze the optical properties of ice to improve energy reconstruction for particle interaction events. My research experience has honed my ability to present complex concepts clearly, as I have delivered numerous presentations about my findings.
I have been tutoring for the past three years, working with students ranging from high school sophomores to college juniors pursuing degrees in STEM. My tutoring style prioritizes building a deep understanding of concepts while empowering students to solve problems independently and efficiently. I strive to help students connect new material to previously learned concepts, fostering long-term retention and appreciation for the subject.
My approach is heavily inspired by the renowned physicist Richard Feynman, who emphasized learning through practical examples. I introduce new topics within the context of problem-solving, allowing students to see how abstract theories apply to real-world scenarios. By breaking down problems into manageable steps, I guide students to develop confidence and mastery over even the most challenging material.
Whether online or in-person for local students, I am committed to providing a tailored learning experience that meets each student’s unique needs. My ultimate goal is to not only help students excel academically but also to inspire curiosity and enthusiasm for math and physics." less...
