"Hi! My name is Venus, and I graduated Florida International University with a Bachelor's Degree in Marine Biology and Biology. I was a teacher for approximately 2 years in two schools. I taught 5th - 8th graders in one of the schools, teaching Biology, Earth Science, and Mathematics. I taught groups of 20-30 students, using a PowerPoint-utilized approach, and after the lecture, I will provide the students with an interactive worksheet or project to complete that utilizes what they just learned in the lecture. I do both a visual approach and a hands-on approach with the students to accommodate to their learning needs. In the second school, I taught 8th and 9th graders biology, focusing on cell biology, animal physiology, anatomy, and other subjects. I taught the students using the same methods as the other school.
Additionally, I have been a tutor for approximately 4 years now, with experience tutoring students from K-12th grade and college students as well. For tutoring, I would have the student send me the material they would like to go over in the session, and I ensure that the material is prepped prior to meeting with the student. Upon request, I provide practice questions and small tests for the student over the topics that they were struggling with, so they can utilize what we went over in the session to ensure they learned the material.
