"Hello! I am a former Preschool/PreK teacher and administrator, and I typically work with elementary students. I specialize in reading/math intervention, basic skills retention, summer bridge work, and Kindergarten preparation. I am member of the National Tutor Association and the National Association for the Education of Young Children. I am trained in the Orton-Gillingham reading method.

I am a mom of two grown children, and I homeschooled both of them for part of their education. I have been a tutor for many years and enjoy working with children online and in-person. I believe children learn best with hands- on activities that engages the whole child and a patient and loving teacher. I look forward to working with you!

I have an Early Childhood Education degree from Ashworth College. I am working on a reading certification to supplement my years of teaching this age group. I have extensive experience teaching phonics, phonemic awareness, and early reading skills that will help to prepare your child for elementary school. Currently I am a high impact early literacy tutor for school districts and tutor individual students after school in all subject areas grades PreK through grade 6.

I have taught, early writing skills and handwriting for many years. I also have experience homeschooling my children who are both now excelling at the college level and also for another family who utilized my teaching skills during COVID lockdowns last Spring and this Fall.

Early reading is my favorite part of teaching. I have studied phonics teaching techniques and worked with a mentor while teaching to develop my techniques.
