I graduated from Cal Poly SLO with a Bachelors in Business Administration, concentrating in Information Systems. I worked in tech consulting for 3 years and now work with two non-profit organizations, where I provide education assistance for unhoused students and career services/guidance for adults. I have 4+ years of tutoring experience with elementary through middle school students in math (K-6, Pre-Algebra, Algebra, Geometry), reading, and writing. I am knowledgeable about Common Core Standards, and am comfortable working with students following these class guidelines. I also have 3+ years of experience working with high school, college, and professionals in reading/writing/editing personal statements, resumes, cover letters, etc.

I can communicate effectively with students and have built many positive relationships with parents. As a student, I understand how busy schedules and learning new concepts can be stressful. I believe learning can be fun and I always encourage my students with breaks, games, and activities. In the first meeting, I work with each student to assess their learning styles, strengths, and weaknesses to tailor our future lesson plans and sessions. My teaching style is centered around incremental improvements and building confidence in my students. In each session, we can go over homework questions or review concepts for upcoming exams.
