"Hello Prospective Students!
I’m excited to introduce myself to you! I am easygoing and genuinely passionate about tutoring—not just as a side activity, but as a fulfilling endeavor. With over ten years of tutoring experience through Wyzant and various institutions, I’m dedicated to helping students succeed. I come to each lesson prepared and encourage students to share any questions or materials in advance, ensuring we make the most of our time together.
Currently, I am the co-founder and course director of Climatematch Academy, where we offer a two-week virtual course in computational methods for climate science, reaching hundreds of students globally each year. Our mission is to foster a global community of scientists and stakeholders by breaking down barriers to knowledge and presenting content in an inclusive, accommodating manner. I apply these same principles in my tutoring sessions, customizing my approach to meet the unique needs of each student.
I hold two bachelor’s degrees—one in Applied Mathematics and another in Earth Science—and earned my PhD in Earth, Environmental, and Planetary Sciences from Brown University in 2020, specializing in oceanography. I then completed my postdoc at Princeton University assessing how natural climate variability affects coastal oxygen levels in the northern Indian Ocean.
In the summer of 2014, I participated in a program designed to support incoming freshmen as they transitioned to college-level mathematics. During that time, I also taught a GRE prep course focused on the quantitative section. Since then, I’ve had the pleasure of teaching college-level oceanography and programming to high school students at Brown University, both in-person and virtually, for three years. Additionally, I co-taught a Python seminar to juniors at Princeton University for two years.
I look forward to helping you achieve your academic goals! Feel free to reach out with any questions or to schedule a lesson." less...
