"Math has always been my favorite subject and I enjoy sharing my passion for it with my students. I believe that being patient and approachable is the key to being a great tutor. I have about 9 years of math tutoring experience (including classroom teaching experience). I also have a Bachelor's degree in Mathematics. I am currently pursing a career as an electrician and working part-time as a math tutor.
On a side note, when I'm not tutoring or working I can be found playing handball, which I have passionately pursued for over 20 years and plan to keep doing it with every chance I get! I also speak Spanish.
Math doesn't have to be hard! Mathematics at its core is about breaking up complex puzzles into smaller pieces and then putting the pieces back together in a more understandable way. Memorizing mathematical formulas don't get students very far. I help students get a deeper understanding of math which helps them grasp new concepts faster. My students have been able to speak math after a couple of tutoring sessions with me!
I tutor concepts from all levels of mathematics including Elementary, Algebra 1, Algebra 2, Geometry, Trigonometry, SHSAT, SAT, ACT, Pre-Calculus, and Calculus!
I hope to hear from you soon!" less...
