"I love teaching, and have been tutoring for more than twenty years now. I have worked with students in subjects ranging from college level physics to high school essay writing to elementary school math, but now I focus solely on high school math and physics.

I first started tutoring in high school. While I was studying physics at the University of Washington, I worked as a volunteer tutor, a physics teaching assistant, and an SAT/ACT prep coach. I also worked for the Physics Education Group at the UW. I became interested in how people learn, and decided to pursue a graduate degree in cognitive psychology. I received my MA in cognition and learning in 2011. Then I came back home to Seattle to tutor math and physics full-time.

I especially love teaching students the skills to do well on their own: problem solving, studying, test taking, how to read questions, etc. The coursework for my master's degree was focused on learning: learning differences, curriculum, and development. My master's thesis was on physics misconceptions, and I did research on gender differences in the sciences.

I love math and physics and finding ways to make them interesting and fun for others. I tailor my approach and teaching style to each individual.

I meet with students online, using zoom and OneNote." less...
