"Now accepting new students for fall 2024 and available for summer 2024 tutoring. Contact me to discuss your tutoring goals, scheduling, and rates.
I have a PhD in epidemiology and a Masters in Public Health from University of Southern Caifornia. My undergraduate degree is in biology. I have extensive tutoring experience and I currently teach health science subjects to undergraduate college students and graduate level research methods. My tutoring focus is in statistics, biostatistics, and epidemiology. I also tutor public health and research methods. I can help with preparing for medical biostatistics and epidemiology examinations such as USMLE Step 1 Medical Board Exam.
I am experienced with SPSS, SAS, and STATA. I am also familiar with other statistical programs such as StatCrunch and Excel for data analysis and with the TI-84 calculator. I can help with R as well. I work with all levels of students from high school through post-graduate and have successfully worked with many returning adult students who had math anxiety. In addition, I am available for help with developing research projects and writing.
In addition to my experiences and education, I have a good personality for tutoring. I am very patient and one of my main strengths is the ability to explain material in different ways so that my students will understand it. If someone is having trouble in a class understanding what the teacher is teaching, the student needs to hear the material explained in a different way. I can also explain complex ideas (such as those in biostatistics) using real life examples that can help in understanding." less...
