"I am a substitute teacher pursuing certification in ELA grades 7-12 with additional certification in Special Education. I received my undergraduate degree from The State University of New York at New Paltz in Gender and Sexuality Studies and English. I then obtained my master’s degree in Secondary Education with a concentration in ELA from Grand Canyon University. I have always been a big proponent of differentiation and multiple ways to showcase one’s knowledge. I learned early on that I thrived in an online learning environment and have been able to translate that love to tutoring my students online while maintaining a personal connection and helping my students to obtain, retain, and apply knowledge.
I am passionate about helping my students strengthen all aspects of literacy: reading, writing, listening, and speaking. I believe in the power of words and that literacy unlocks the doors to all academic and career advancement.
My specialties include academic writing (research papers, theses, and dissertations) first-year college composition essays, working with special education students as well as general education students, application essays, brainstorming, personal statements, speeches, mission statements, persuasive, and literature essays.
Whether you are a high school student applying for college or a middle school student writing their first essay, I will meet you where you are and help you to see that you are capable, supported, and skilled. I want to help you find your voice by strengthening your reading abilities to learn from others vantage point, actively listening, writing from the heart, and speaking with conviction.
We all hit roadblocks in life and in academia, but we all have the ability to overcome them; sometimes we just need a bit of help, guidance, encouragement which can turn into confidence in the abilities you have and are building on. I am here for you, I believe in you, and look forward to working with you!" less...
