"Hi, I'm Diyu! I'm a med student at Stony Brook with an undergraduate degree from Yale and more than 10 years of experience tutoring math and science. I've had a passion for teaching since 2011, when I was an Explainer at the New York Botanical Garden and led a peer tutoring program at my school. Since then, I've tutored freelance and at companies, prepared disadvantaged students for STEM at Yale, mentored underrepresented students, and was selected by medical education deans to work individually with students. I even helped a student who failed a class multiple times to pass it, allowing them to graduate. In addition to my teaching, I was a TV reporter for Teen Kids News, for which I won a NY Emmy award. I believe deeply in the value of education and hope to empower others to do their absolute best in school!

I've earned top scores on numerous standardized tests, including the SAT; SAT Subject tests in biology, US history, and Math Level 2; the MCAT; and the US Medical Licensing Exam (USMLE) Step 2 CK. I've won a National Merit Scholarship, AP Scholar Award with distinction in both 2014 and 2015, and a Nathan Hale Scholarship at Yale. I have presented original scientific research both nationally and internationally.
