"Hello Prospective Students!
My name is Neeraj N. I am a recent MPH Graduate from the Dornsife School of Public Health at Drexel University. I specialize in tutoring high school and college math and statistics.
I used to be a student athlete tutor and tutored at well-known learning centers for a year. I am also currently an online tutor with two other platforms. I received a 3.9 GPA in my Masters degree including A's in biostatistics and epidemiology and completed a master's project involving multivariable SAS data analysis of a large database of traffic collisions and deaths in Bogota, Colombia at the Dornsife School of Public Health.
My passion for education starts with the student of course! I meet the student where they are at and work towards understanding material rather than just getting the homework done. In terms of how I approach tutoring I want to first understand the student's goals and motivations for seeking tutoring. I then work towards a plan or "mini-lesson" so that the student not only understands the problem but can apply the concept effectively. More importantly I try to incorporate real world scenarios into tutoring so my students understand how their lessons are important in everyday life and try to also ensure that it is the student directing their own learning and plan of attack to solving problems!
As you can tell I have tutored a wide range of learners, from Division I tennis players to kindergarten students. However, my approach is always consistent. I believe tutoring is the most effective when the student takes charge of their learning and develops a plan of attack! An example, lets say you as a student come to me with an algebra or statistics problem. My approach is to first have you take the first steps in solving the problem. I want tutoring to be interactive for me and the student!
I am more than happy to discuss my strategies with prospective tutoring students and welcome messages to my account. I wish all students the best in their educational endeavors!" less...
