"I have all my degrees from New Jersey schools. I have an A.S. from Mercer County Community College, B.A. from Rutgers University, M.S. from Montclair State University, PhD from NJIT, and am currently an Assistant Professor in Math at West Point. I have always loved explaining material to other students. My strategy is to use experiential learning, where students discover the solution for themselves as I guide them along. This leads to better retention and teaches the students how to learn, which is a lifelong skill.

I have two years of tutoring experience at Rutgers University, across the mathematics curriculum, and have tutored up to 30 students at once. Additionally, I have four years experience tutoring privately. I frequently hold office hours for my students where I reinforce learning and provide tips for success.

As a tutor I always emphasize understanding, not just "plug and chug," and help students figure out the material on their own. Something that I also do as a tutor is encourage speed. On an exam students must be able to not only know the material but also be able to write a clear exposition in the time allotted. I have many "tricks" that speed up this process (especially in Calculus).
