"Hi Everyone! My name is Tonya, and I enjoy teaching and helping other's meet their educational goals. I graduated from Chicago State University with a M.S. in Education & Technology; and I attended Central State University for undergrad, where I received my B.S. in Business Administration. I have experience tutoring from the Elementary level up to the College level.

I started my tutoring career, tutoring my peers in 2010 at Central State University. Upon graduation in 2012 I continued as a private math tutor and tutored at different after school programs, such as Arrowhead Tutors. I am an Experienced Math tutor in Elementary math, Elementary Math K-6, Algebra and College Algebra. I also have experience in other courses such as Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint.

I am passionate about tutoring because it allows me to use all my knowledge and skills to help others succeed. I enjoy seeing that my supplemental help can make a student more confident in themselves as they become more aware of their own strengths and weaknesses. I am highly personable, patient and genuinely care about the improvement of my students academic achievement in and out of the classroom, whilst being a good role model.

I use different learning approaches and adapt my lessons for each student learning needs. Whether the student is visual or a hands-on learner, I prepare lessons that are in line with the student's specific goals, and use study skills based on their strength.
