"Hi, I’m Jesus! I’m a senior at Northwestern University, double majoring in Mathematics and Economics with a 3.9 GPA. I have made the Dean’s List for 10 consecutive quarters and have developed a strong foundation in mathematical problem-solving, logical reasoning, and real-world applications of math. My passion for mathematics started early, and over the years, I have refined my skills through both rigorous coursework and hands-on tutoring experience.
For over two years, I have worked as a tutor through Wyzant and other platforms, helping students of all levels—from high school to college—gain confidence in their mathematical abilities. I specialize in Algebra, Precalculus, Calculus (AB/BC, Calculus I & II), Linear Algebra, and Probability. My approach to tutoring is interactive and student-focused—I encourage students to share their thought processes, ask questions, and build a deep understanding of mathematical concepts rather than just memorizing formulas.
I recognize that math can sometimes feel overwhelming, so I focus on breaking down complex concepts into manageable steps. Whether it's mastering algebraic equations, understanding functions in precalculus, tackling derivatives in calculus, analyzing probability distributions, or working with vector spaces in linear algebra, I tailor each lesson to meet the individual needs of my students. My goal is not only to help students succeed in their current coursework but also to develop their mathematical intuition for future learning.
I truly enjoy helping students overcome challenges, build confidence, and develop an appreciation for mathematics. I welcome feedback and adjust my teaching methods based on each student's learning style. If you're looking for a patient and knowledgeable tutor who can help you succeed in math, feel free to reach out—I’d love to help!" less...
